The Friends of the Fox River Grove Library will be holding their Elementary Science Book Club event on Tuesday, January 23rd. The theme of the event is Domino Effect and is for students K-4th grade. They are in need of 4-5 volunteers from our club. This activity will begin at 5:00PM.
Debbie & Ted Wagner will host a fireside chat at their home on Thursday, February 15. The event will begin at 6:00PM. Please plan on attending this informative meeting.
Sue Maifield received a letter from Home of the Sparrow to the membership. The letter was a sincere "Thank You" to the the members for gift-card donations amounting to $295. Thanks to each member for making their individual donations to this most worthy cause.
The Habitat for Humanity home at 6303 Hillcrest in Cary is progressing nicely. They are still welcoming volunteers on site. There is discussion about a group from the club joining forces on a Saturday in February to work at the site. Jack has lined up February 24th as the date for this. More details to follow.
An Englishman, an Irishman, and a Scotsman walk into a pub and buy beers. Just as they raise their drinks to their lips, three flies land in each of their pints. The Englishman pushes his beer away in disgust. The Irishman fishes the fly out of his beer and carries on drinking. The Scotsman picks the fly out of his drink and starts shaking it, "Spit it out, ye thieving wee varmint! Spit it out...!"

One of President Steve's goals this year is to have at least one member join a Rotary Action Group or Rotary Fellowship Group. As stated on RI's website, a Rotarian Action Group is an autonomous group of Rotarians, family members, program participants and alumni who are experts in a particular field, such as micro-credit or water and sanitation.
