The Rotary Club of Cary-Grove heard from the McHenry County Youth Sports Association at its weekly meeting this morning.  Ted Groat and Greg Case discussed the upcoming MCYSA tournament planned for this summer.  This year's event will include 20 teams from outside the United States.  Teams from Brazil, Japan, Puerto Rico, Sri Lanka and Russia are a few of the countries that will have teams competing with age groups of Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15.
The tournament will take place from July 25th through August 6th and will be played on fields located throughout McHenry County.  Not only does this event offer an opportunity for local residents to see some of the best competition from around the world, it also presents a chance to host some of the players through the "home stay" program sponsored by MCYSA.  The home stay experience is a chance for international players to be hosted by local families, providing both the opportunity to learn about each other's country and culture.  Responsibilities for host families include providing a place for the youth to sleep, transporting them to and from games and providing meals.
