Heartland Blood Center
Roxie Kaminski was the guest speaker at the weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove. Roxie gave an overview of the Heartland's operations and of the upcoming blood drive that will occur on Wednesday, October 23rd. The drive will be held in honor of the police and fire personnel serving the local communities and will be conducted at the Cary Park District facility located at 255 Briargate, Cary Illinois.
The Heartland Blood Center is celebrating 70 years of operation throughout 12 counties in Northern Illinois. It is the sole provider of blood and blood platlets to 49 hospitals and Trauma centers. The Heartland's statistics show that someone is in need of blood every two seconds, and one liter of blood can save three lives. That's why it is so important that people take the time to contribute at a local blood bank. To learn more about Heartland and its blood centers, visit their website at www.heartlandbc.org.
