Carol stream Rotary had a booth and participated in a 4 mile walk through Aurora to support the fight against Alzheimer's.
Rotary club of Carol Stream members donned rain gear in September to join the 2019 St Charles Walk to end Alzheimer's.  The rain came down and soaked the starting area and the booths along the beautiful Fox River.  The Rotary team joined 892 eager participants walking through Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles, Illinois, for a lost loved one, as a caretaker, as a patient , or a supporter of the cause to end Alzheimer's disease and causes of dementia.  The walk raised over $160,000 towards the cause.  In addition, the members had exercise and a chance to stretch our legs a bit.  The walk meandered along the rising Fox River, through the park, over a bridge and back to waiting cheerleaders from a local school.  Many people are afflicted with this disease, including some of our own member's parents. Our members had made this cause a club priority for this year.  The club has had speakers this year as well at the club meetings to help us understand the disease and available care options for our loved ones.
