During the Cold winter months, the Rotary Club of Carol Stream organized a community wide coat drive to keep residents warm.
November through February tend to be very cold here in the upper midwest.  We have a very gracious community, and many partners who are willing to donate space and "bins"
for collections of gently used winter coats for those in need.  Our partners started collecting the coats in November and we finish the collection in February.  We had community support for the drive from the Village hall, Park District, Library, to name a few.  Our Rotary members, Dick Wilson and Stan Celner, went to the collection sites weekly for 16 weeks to collect  almost 3000 coats and deliver them to the local Repeat Boutique for distribution to those in need.  In addition, many donated mittens, scarves, and gloves went to People's Resource Center.  Our school district distributed the children's coats to the students in need as well.  We hope that the recipients enjoyed the warmth this season.
