On January 3, Denny Snyder presented us with the latest display banner that holds the banners that are given to us by visitors or by our club members after they visit another club in their travels. Denny has been the person in the past who has taken on the responsibility of attaching the banners to the display banners and he is passing that along now in his retirement from Edward Jones. We are thankful that he is still going to be a member of our club!! On January 10, our speaker was Paula Bush who told us about a project called CAPABLE (Community Aging in Place, Advancing Better Living for Elders). The CAPABLE Program was developed by John Hopkins University. This program is for seniors 65 and older and is aimed at helping individuals live independently in their homes and more fully engage in daily activities. On January 17, the birthday honoree, Rob, requested a birthday song from the women in our club and they obliged. Our speaker was Ned Meisner, who talked about charity programs that make a difference in Ecuador. |
