Last week our speaker was Mark Ingrum, Employment Opportunities Manager, for the Center for Enriched Living. Mark discussed the history of the Center and how it provides job opportunities and training for teenagers and adults with developmental disabilities. The interests and abilities of the Center’s members are vital in determining the programs available to them. These programs are tailored to the needs and wishes of each member. Mark emphasized how CEL staff members provide significant job support that helps employees succeed in their jobs. He mentioned how fund raising activities directly benefit members of the Center. He invited all Rotarians to visit the Center and observe first hand how the Center programs affect the members.

Here is an addendum to the photos I ran last week about the April 15th meeting of the Village Board. Our club presented the Firefighter of the Year to Firefighter/Paramedic Scott Renshaw. Renshaw was recognized during the meeting for assistance he provided in building a ramp for a disabled village resident, coordinating a major remodeling project at Fire Station 25, and spending numerous hours performing the skilled labor necessary to complete the work. He is also involved in the Water Rescue Team, the Northwest Community Hospital Research and Development Committee, Paramedic Education, as well as the Driving Committee and Safety Committee. Here he is pictured with Fire Chief Mike Baker and President Shawn.
We had a great turnout of our club for that special night when it was announced that the Rotary Village Green Park would now be known as Ernie Karge Rotary Village Green Park in honor of Ernie. Here is Honorary Member Joan Karge.
