Thursday's Business Meeting is In-Person and a Zoom Meeting
Thursday's busines meeting is in-person at Continental and a zoom meeting at 12:15.  Please see Brett's email for the zoom link and food order link.
Last Week's Meeting
Last week our speaker was Joanna Prisiajniouk, Rotarian from the River Cities Rotary Club, who spoke to us about relief efforts for Ukriane and explained the history of Ukraine.  Steve has been helping obtain medical supplies that have been sent to Ukraine and Joanna has relatives in the country who advise her about what is needed during this difficult and tragic time.  What is desparately needed are tourniquets and here is how you can help.
Here's the information on where to order tourniquets and where to go to ship them to Ukraine.

Ukrainian Shipping Services:
Kalyna
338 S. Rohlwing Rd
Palatine, IL 60074

Ask to ship to Marta Vovchasta...she is listed under Joanna Prisiajniouk, phone number 847-738-2205.

This package weighs 17.2 lbs. Shipping by air is $2.85 plus delivery services, so expect to pay $70.30 for it to arrive in a couple of weeks. It will be half this cost approximately by sea but it will take a month to arrive.
Our Club is Offering Scholarships
The Rotary Club of Buffalo Grove is happy to announce these opportunities for scholarships:

 Environmental Service Project May 21
From the Environmental Commitee: Brett will be sending out a survey to see who can attend this event:  Friends and family members are invited:
May 21 - 9 am to noon - Willow Stream Park at the nature playground near the outdoor pool off of Farrington Drive.  We will be planting native plants at an overgrown bed and on a berm (unoficially Ryan's Hill) nearby.  This is a project that we hope to get many club members out to help.  Thanks!
Invitation From our Grant Recipent WINGS
From WINGS: we are having an in-person Open House at the Barrington White House on Thursday, June 16th from 3pm-8pm. We originally put this event together for our 35th anniversary, but had to postpone due to COVID-19.

Thank you again for your support! We are grateful for your partnership!        image001.png

Sincerely,
Sarah Swiston
