Last week three of our members were celebrating birthdays - Dennis D., President-Elect Shawn and Neil. They requested that Bo sing to them Marilyn Monroe style, which for a price, he did. Last week the Community Grant Committee, chaired by Deenie, awarded three grants to very worthy recipients - CERT, the Community Emergency Response Team of Buffalo Grove, a trained team helping with community emergency plans, neighborhood exercises, preparedness outreach, fire safety education, and workplace safety; the Indian Trails Library program, The Big Read, an initiative to support innovative community-reading programs designed around a single book and topics that are relevant to the community; and Connect to Community, an organization that is dedicated to finding and facilitating purposeful employment and enjoyment for adults with developmental disabilities. |
