Last week we heard a very moving talk, "Letters from the Heart," from author and our club member, Dennis Depcik. Dennis described the power of hand written letters and how he and his wife fell in love through them that led to a happy 41-year marriage. Unknown to him, Dennis' wife Maggie saved 119 letters that the two had written to each other when Dennis was in the Army overseas. After Maggie's death, he discovered the letters which he struggled to read, but found that writing a book, "Wouldn't it Be Something", was cathartic for him.
