Last Week's Meeting

Last week two of the students that went sponsored to attend the RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Award) conference attended our meeting to tell us about the amazing experience it was.  Fran, our exchange student from Chile, and Michelle from Stevenson High School, Jing's daughter who also went on the service trip to Guatemala, attended one of the two RYLA conferences offered to high school students in District 6440.  Students attend the camp in East Troy, WI from Thursday night to Sunday morning and listen to motivational speakers, engage in team building games, make friends and learn about leadership skills.  Every year our club includes the scholarships for students to attend RYLA and they are always very grateful for the experience.  We sponsored an additional student, Maxene, from Stevenson High School who went to Guatemala with our club, but was not able to attend our club meeting.
