In October 2017 our Club made a $2000 donation was approved out of the International Project Fund for the Cervical Screening Project in India.

Matt was able to deliver the check in person! See below for a short recap of his visit.

I had a very short yet eye opening visit to village of Mota Fofalia in State of Gujarat.  As one can see from the google maps this is a tiny village and the Hospital I visited is was started in Memory of Alka’s Grand Father? And construction on this Hospital begin in late 1999 only. Prior to this there were no basic hospital services in this region.

This hospital serves about 80 other villages in the 100 mile radius, and about 300,000 patients. This hospital works on Public Private Partnership Model (Where the Govt. Provides salaries of the doctors and medicine while facilities are managed by local private charity NGOs.,

Registration for hospital is a nominal fee of Rs. 2.00 ($0.13cents) only, for basic Internist visit, and Rs. 20 for admission and surgeries. Including Child delivery and care.

Funds provided by our club they will organize a camp sometime in late December 2017 or January 2018 and we will get a full report on it. Their service moto is “We trust in God, But We need Data For Verification”

Their plan for this camp has 4 phases.

  1. Visits to villages and identify girls and women who need testing
  2. Testing & Results Share
  3. Treatments
  4. Revisit to confirm that treatment is being applied and results

I feel very confident that this is the right group that we have selected to utilize our project funds.
