CERVICAL DISEASE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT CAMP
 
Shakti Krupa charitable trust in conjuction with C.A.Patel hospital and Rotary club of Bartlett commenced the Cervical disease diagnosis and treatment camp on Thursday February 15 2017.
Administrators: Dr. Dinesh Patel (Major donor), Dr. Bernard Fassl (university of Utah), Dr. Aidan, (University of Utah), Jeetendra and Meghna Patel (trust secretary and trustee)
Providers: Dr. Rinku Chovatia (women’s disease specialist), Dr. Gaurav Bagmar (general surgeon), Dr.Nilesh Shah( medical officer), Dr. Pradip Athalye (Medical Officer), Dr. Nirav Patel(medical officer), and Dr. Smita Patel (medical officer)
Total # of patients: 146 out of which 64 patients related to obstetrics and gynecology issues took advantage of the camp.
Through the supervision of Dr. Rinku Chovatia, 31 women who were suspect for cervical cancer were tested by taking samples for pap smear slides (62 slides: ecto and endo cervical smears). As per results, the women will be further evaluated and treated accordingly. Furthermore, 4 patients were immediate candidates for hysterectomy and were referred to general surgeon fo further evaluation and dates for surgery.
Cost: $15.00 per screening per person. (testing kit + lab cost)
The Rotary club of Bartlett provided funds to help with the actual screening process. Treatment will be followed up with the help of the C.A. Patel Charitable trust/hospital, University of Utah(CINLUMA device), and Gujarat cancer research society.
Future testing will also include a mobile unit that goes from village to village and tests/treats women accordingly.
