Citizens for Conservation

Wednesday, September 18th from 5pm-7pm
Join us each Wednesday for Seeds n' Sunsets in Spring Creek! Whether you're a first-time volunteer or a seasoned seed-gathering pro, all are welcome to join in for a pleasant evening in Spring Creek. Volunteers will meet at the Penny Road Pond parking lot. To get there, take Penny Road west from IL Route 59. After a mile or so, turn south (left) into the gravel parking lot. Register to volunteer here. 

Thursday, September 19th from 9am-11am
Celebrate a perfect September morning by collecting purple prairie clover and wild quinine seed at Longmeadow Prairie. Volunteers will meet at Citizens for Conservation HQ, then carpool to the volunteer site.

Saturday, September 21st from 9am-11am
Start your weekend out right with, you guessed it, more seed collecting! Volunteers will meet at Citizens for Conservation HQ.

Sunday, September 22nd from 3:30-5:00pm

Help the Spring Creek Stewards join forces with CFC volunteers to collect a record-setting amount of native seed. Volunteers will meet at Citizens for Conservation HQ.

If this is your first time joining us, we recommend all volunteers wear long pants and sturdy footwear (long sleeves and a water bottle are a good idea, too). You can log in to the Forest Preserve volunteer portal to RSVP for upcoming Spring Creek Forest Preserve workdays.

Minors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult and all minors must have their parent/guardian sign the sign-in sheet at the workday or provide a waiver signed by a parent/guardian in order to participate.
