September 6, 2025- One of the Rotary Global Grants that our club is participating in is focused on WASH and Community Development in Cambodia. One aspect of this grant was a life-changing cow vaccination in Buo Srangae and Preah Chambok villages, Bakan District. Through the support of the grant, a total of 145 cows owned by 66 villager families received vaccinations to protect against Hemorrhagic Septicemia, Blackleg, and Foot and Mouth Disease, the three serious illnesses that commonly affect cows during the rainy season.
The first round of vaccinations was carried out on June 7, 2025, and the next round is scheduled for November 7, 2025, covering the same communities and animals. Vaccination is done twice a year to ensure ongoing protection for the cows, which are a good source of income and food security for these rural villagers’ families.
