September 28, 2024.  Under the guidance of Jeff Weiss, members of the Arlington Heights and Buffalo Grove Rotary Clubs came together to work at Mill Creek Park in Buffalo Grove.  Mill Creek Park is between Buffalo Grove and Arlington Heights and experiences significant erosion due to rainwater run-off from the Arlington Industrial Park and nearby areas which then flows into the basin at Mill Creek Park.  We planted shrubs along the north streambank and planted seeds of native plants on the south stream buffer.  In addition to planting shrubs and planting seeds; we also harvested seeds from certain plants in the area which will  be processed and distributed to the Village and Park District to use to restore natural areas throughout the Village, including Mill Creek Park.
