In a pilot project that appears destined to expand, Drs. Chris Wood and Maggie Albertson, provided comprehensive vision examinations for 15 fifth graders from a local Palatine elementary school. The low income students were identified based on screening tests. A grant from Walmart will provide glasses for the students. Based on the success of the initial project, a district nurse would like to see the program expanded to cover other schools.
