June 27, 2024.   Today we celebrated the accomplishments of the 23-24 Rotary year and passed the torch (or in our case the backscratcher) to newly installed president Ron Gerlach and his new board.  

After reviewing major accomplishments from the past year, outgoing president Dave Weiner distributed awards to outstanding Rotarians, including John Kent, our Rotarian of the year.

Also recognized for their contributions:

Christina Yolich, Certificate of Appreciation for her outstanding work on the Santa Run prior to joining the club.

Chuck Frankiewciz, Certificate of Recognition for his work with the (IMD) Guest House and Thanksgiving projects. Kari Koebernick for her work with food insecurity, and Jim Thomson

Jim Hassenplug, Service Above Self Award, for his work organizing and keeping our Fun Masters in line.

Ed Sobon, The Mike Silverman Spirit of Rotary Award

Linda Borton, Distinguished Rotarian Award for service outside of our club.

 

At the conclusion of the awards, newly installed District Governor installed Ron and his board.  Then following a long tradition, all of the past presidents that were present (including Kenneth Rateike, president 88-89) presented Ron with the forementioned backscratcher, symbolizing that "they 

will have his back" in the coming year.
