At our weekly luncheon meeting of October 7, 2014, The above club members gave their Classification Talk.
 
A Classification Talk is presented to the club assembly, usually 1 to 6 months after becoming a member. The Talk is summarized as follow:
  • A brief career history
  • Why his/hers particular business or profession was chosen
  • Parts of his/hers job found most rewarding and most difficult
  • Standards of practice within his/hers field
  • The ethical issues faced on the job and how Rotary helps deal with them
  • The characteristics most needed for success in his/hers business or profession
  • The changes that technology, government regulations, environmental factors, and other outside forces have generated in his/hers field and how these changes may in turn be affecting other fields
  • Educational requirements for entry-level jobs in his/hers vocation
  • The advice he/she would give to young people thinking of entering his/hers career field.
More often than not, the member will also talk about his/her family.
