A cardiologist spoke about health care in the US. Using statistics from countries all over the world including the USA, he compared the health of our citizens with those in other countries. Taking into consideration that the USA has so many fabulous first-class healthcare facilities and specialized medical professionals, we still rank at the bottom of the barrel in almost all aspects of wellness including deaths from illegal narcotic drug use. Most eye opening was the racial and socioeconomic disparity of wellness within four regions in the country. The north, east and west had the better availability and quality of healthcare, especially because of higher incomes and greater education, while states like New Mexico, Alabama, Kentucky, Louisiana, Tennessee, Mississippi, Arkansas, South Carolina, and some others lacked adequate quality and affordable healthcare for its citizens, especially for those in the low income black and Hispanic communities which make up a significant portion of the population.
