Gina Peshek spoke about the importance of textile recycling, She has been in the recycling business since 2016 working with one of the largest waste, recycling companies for paper, cardboard and plastics. Her passion is for a more green environment and since 2019 she has been working with Helping Hands. Textiles have a significant impact on the environment during their lifecycle. Large amounts of water, energy, pesticides and fertilizers have made the global textile industry one of the most polluting and waste producing industries in the world. Recycling textile has become the newest addition to the materials that are recycled and redirected from the landfill.
