Most of their students-trainees are from Evanston and range in age from 15 to 22. They are all considered “at-risk”, meaning they have had contact with judicial system, were headed in that direction, or have not had opportunities that other youth have had access to. Students are referred by Evanston probation officers, Evanston’s Youth Job Center, social services agencies and the States Attorney. They are determined to build a positive future for themselves and their community.
