Karen Erickson spoke about working with Tennessee Williams at the Goodman Theater. Karen has worked in professional theater for over 35 years as a playwright, director, artistic director, and producer with the Goodman Theater, The Center Theater, Trinity Square Ensemble Theater, The Playwrights Center, Pegasus Players, and Genesius Guild. She has written 6 produced theatrical productions for professional theaters as well as 10 plays for children and youth, some of which have toured for hundreds of performances. She has been a Kennedy Center Teaching Artist, workshop leader, speaker, and consultant for over 26 years. Karen is a former college and university instructor in the areas of drama and interdisciplinary arts and education at such notable schools as Columbia College, Northwestern University, Loyola, and Eastern Illinois Universities. She studied theater at Illinois State University, Northern Illinois University, and Second City in Chicago. She has worked in all 50 States and Puerto Rico as well as in Europe and Central America with a recent consulting job in Malta as a consultant on using theater as a teaching tool in the classroom.
