The club viewed and discussed several short videos on plastics as they are endangering the environment and our own metabolism.

Ivy Sundell is a concerned neighbor who attended our Pancake Breakfast and approached us to have a conversation on the topic. We discussed possible approaches to this issue:

1. We can be aware of the impact plastic pollution has on the environment and our own and family’s health, 2. We can talk about practical steps that we can take, 3. We can offer action on the issue through the development of reusable bags (non-plastic) and other reusable items in our own lives, 4. We can reach out to the community to transition from plastic to reusable items. There are examples where community action is economically positive to businesses.
