Rotary in Action- Thank you!

On Saturday, June 21, the Rotary-in-Action committee wrapped up our joint project with the Keep LJ Beautiful (KLJB) Commission at the Lake Jackson Butterfly Garden. We had a great turnout & managed to finish up by 1 pm. In addition to
sprucing up the sign, we moved it to the entrance of the municipal chipping
yard, mixing (by hand) 32 bags of concrete for the new hole.

Thanks go out to our attendees:

David Landsborough – especially for all the prep work in advance of Saturday

Ricky Hyde

Donna Jackson

Perry Mueller

Norman Wood

Lucy Pendon

Debby Soltesz

Mike Strobel

Austin Strobel – concrete mixer extraordinaire

Mike Coburn

Steve Elbert

A special thank you to:

Joe Luycx & Luycx Plumbing for the use of their excavator & labor to dig the new
hole for the sign.

Noble Building & Development for the use of their tractor w/forklift attachment to move the sign into place.

With this event we wrapped up a very successful Rotary in Action year. A big “Thank you” to all who participated in any of the RiA events. RiA exemplifies what Rotary means by “Service Above Self."

Yours in Rotary,

Steve Elbert and Mike Coburn
