My time in office of Mayor for City of Lake Jackson
Speaker Introduction: Mayor Gerald Roznovsky
It is my honor to introduce a true example of servant leadership, community commitment, and
dedication to the people he has proudly served-Mayor Gerald Roznovsky.
A lifelong Brazoria County resident, Gerald was born in Clute, Texas, in 1957, the third of four
sons born to Edward and Helen Roznovsky. A proud graduate of Brazoswood High School's Class of
1975, Gerald learned early the value of teamwork, leadership, and service. As a member of the 1974
State Championship football team and the Outstanding Vocational Student of his graduating class, he
developed the qualities that would guide him throughout his life.
Gerald went on to enjoy a distinguished 37-year career with The Dow Chemical Company, where he
progressed from an entry-level operations role into numerous leadership positions, including
Production Management, Business Analyst, Global Supply Chain Director, Lean Six Sigma Master Black
Belt, and Senior Business Consultant. Throughout his career, he became recognized for his ability
to build teams, solve complex challenges, and drive continuous improvement.
His commitment to service has been equally remarkable. Gerald recently completed 20 years of
leadership on the Lake Jackson City Council, including 15 years as a council member and six years
as Mayor from 2020 through 2026. During his tenure, he helped strengthen city operations, improve
infrastructure, support economic development, and enhance the quality of life for residents.
Beyond Lake Jackson, Gerald has served as a regional leader through organizations such as the
Houston-Galveston Area Council, where he was a board member for 18 years, and he currently serves
as Chairman of the Gulf Coast Transit District. His leadership and dedication earned him the
prestigious Tom Reid Award for Excellence in Regional Leadership.
Gerald's passion for community extends into healthcare, education, and civic organizations. As a
leader with My Community Health Network, he helped expand access to quality healthcare services
throughout the region. He has supported local schools, student programs, Head Start, Communities In
Schools, and numerous nonprofit organizations dedicated to improving the lives of families across
Brazoria County.
But perhaps Gerald's greatest legacy is found in the people he has served alongside and the
community he calls home. For nearly five decades, Gerald and his wife, Patti, have built their
lives together in this community. This August, they will celebrate 49 years of marriage. Together,
they raised three children and are proud grandparents to six grandchildren.
Gerald is known for his integrity, humility, and genuine care for others. His leadership has never
been about recognition-it has always been about making a difference.
Please join me in welcoming a dedicated public servant, a respected community leader, and a true
champion for Lake Jackson and Brazoria County-Mayor Gerald Roznovsky.
