Lindsay Scovil is the executive director of the Lake Jackson Historical Museum. She is also a member of Brazosport Rotary. At least 6,000 people perished from a pre-storm population of 37,700. Financial losses were estimated at a staggering $30,000,000, both of these make this the worst natural disaster in the history of the United States 123 years later. Lindsay is a professional historian. She has a BA in History from the University of Houston and a Master of Arts in History from the University of Houston.
