BRAZOSPORT, Texas (June 3, 2026) — The Brazosport Rotary Club 2026 edition of SafetyTown was at full capacity way before the first day and registration is now closed. In a world of trouble, this is a ‘good problem’ to have. Located at Bess Brannen Elementary School, the 38^th edition of SafetyTown continues a community tradition that has helped generations of children learn how to live more safely, confidently, and responsibly.

Brazosport Rotary Club Awards $40,000 in Scholarships and Honors Area Teachers

LAKE JACKSON, Texas — [May 28, 2026] — At its annual luncheon on May 19, 2026, The Brazosport Rotary Club awarded $40,000 in scholarships to graduating students from Brazoswood High School, Brazosport High School and Brazosport Christian School, continuing the club’s long-standing commitment to education in southern Brazoria County.

Back 2 School Bash Sock Drive A Success!

Brazosport Rotary Club collected and donated 1,470 pairs of socks to the Brazoria County Dream Center for the upcoming Back to School Bash on August 2, 2025. This donation means more students will be able to start the school year prepared and confident. Together, we're working to build hope right here in Brazoria County.

2025-2026 Brazosport Rotary Club New Officers Installed

The new board of directors for Brazosport Rotary Club was installed on Tuesday, June 10th at the RiverPlace in Freeport, TX. President: Lisa Vernor, President-Elect: Melissa Alexander, Secretary: Dr. Vincent Solis, Treasurer: Barbara Franklin, Past President: Harold Nicoll, Membership Chair: Dr. Keith Frank, Club Administration: Shirley Baker, Club Service: Debby Soltesz, Foundation Chair: Lisa Pauls, Public Relations: Annaliza Gideon, Sergeant-At-Arms: Dusty Park, Youth Service: Heather Rimato, Shrimp Boil Chairs: Melissa Alexander and Dr. Vincent Solis.

This dedicated group is excited to lead our "Large Club of the Year" as we unite for good to serve our community and the world!

Brazosport Rotary Club Named ‘Large Club of the Year’ for 2024-2025’

The #Brazosport #Rotary Club was named 'Large Club of the Year' by Rotary District 5890 Governor Nancy Anderson at the Rotary District 5890 Conference in College Station, TX. The award was presented at the Texas A&M University Hotel and Conference Center May 3, 2025. Through scholarships, service projects, and decades of goodwill, the Brazosport Rotary Club continues to go the distance for the people of southern Brazoria County.

Brazosport Rotary Presents College Scholarships to Nine Local Seniors

Nine Brazosport ISD Graduating Seniors received partial college scholarships from the members of the Brazosport Rotary Club. Diane Hill (center) presented them on May 28, 2025. The total scholarships for all nine graduates was $27,800.00. Congratulations to them!

Local Third Graders Receive Dictionaries from Brazosport Rotary

Like in years past, members of the Brazosport Rotary Club donated a dictionary to every third-grade student in the Brazosport Independent School District (BISD). This donation is but one of the local club’s commitments to teachers and students in southern Brazoria County.

Actions Inc Assists During Heat Wave

In the middle of February it is easy to forget about the near record setting heat experienced during the summer of 2024, here southern Brazoria County. But that hot weather and the suffering it caused, was the reason the Brazosport Rotary Club donated $2,000.00 to ‘Actions Inc’ for the purchase of fans. With donations like these, that are funded by the club’s annual Shrimp Boil, the Brazosport Rotary Club has served residents here and around the world, for over 70 years.

Junior Achievement of Brazoria County Receives $2,500 Donation from Brazosport Rotary Club

The Brazosport Rotary Club presented Junior Achievement of Brazoria County (JA) with a donation of $2,500.00, contributing to JA’s mission to empower young people in today’s global economy. Opportunities to Assist Victims of Helene and Milton

A new storm, Major Hurricane Milton, is heading toward Florida and is expected to pass just south of Tampa and Orlando. It will bring strong winds, heavy rain, and a dangerous and deadly storm surge of 10-15 feet to the coast around Tampa on Wednesday night. Residents will wake up on Thursday morning or make the drive back to their homes to assess the damage caused by the storm. The damage they face may be overwhelming, and they will realize that they need help to recover from the storm, some more quickly than others.

Brazosport Rotary Club Donates Funds for New Stage Lighting and Stove

The members of the Brazosport Rotary Club donated $12,449.00 to the Center for the Arts & Sciences in Clute, Texas.

2024 Annual Shrimp Boil Fundraiser-Saturday, March 9, 2024

Please make plans to join us at our annual Shrimp Boil fundraiser on Saturday, March 9th at the Doris Williams Civic Center from 11 AM to 3 PM.

Meal tickets are $20 each and car raffle tickets are $100 each. We will have a live and silent auction as well as the drawing for a 2024 Honda Accord donated by Honda of Lake Jackson. Drive-thru or dine-in meals include gluten free fish and shrimp with corn and potatoes.
