Members of Caldwell Rotary Club walked in the "Relay for Life" event on July 19th and 20th during the community sponsored event for the American Cancer Society.  Rotarian Brian Baughman organized and combined our group with Hartwell Insurance Agency to participate for this event.  The picture is the reason for the relay fundraiser.  Those pictured were the "survivors" of cancer in our community taking their "survivor walk" around the track to kick off the event.  There was an awesome show of support from our community.  Those attending, braved the three digit temperatures. The "Remembrance Walk" was a bittersweet walk around the track later that evening, where luminaires were lit around the entire track of those who passed. Next year, organizers will shoot for an earlier date in June to avoid the blazing heat of July.  This was our first "Relay" and the event passed their set fundraising goal.  Make ups for attending Rotarians will be given for Brian Baughman, Chuck McHugh, Julie Taylor, Michael Hensel, Gina Lujack, Leora Summers, Tim Rosandick, and Eric Boyum who brought his whole family (wife Sonda, and children Makeesha, Jordan and Jessica, in support of his mother, Kay Boyum.  Even our exchange student, Annika Neidig walked for us.  If I missed someone, please contact me, as I did not stay all night and may not have seen you.  Thank you to all who walked and helped in any way.  Leora
