Golden Heart Rotary hosted a fundraiser benefitting the Boys & Girls Club of Fairbanks. Rotarians wanted to make sure the 45 school-aged kids that come to the club every day to participate in on-line learning had a nutritious breakfast. Breakfast helps kids pay better attention in school and is an opportunity for kids to get key nutrients they need to grow. Rotarians Valerie Therrien and Wendy Cloyd presented Amy Cross, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Fairbanks, with a check to help ensure kid get the breakfast they need.
COVID may have kept us from having our annual golf tournament fundraiser, but we found a way to give a gift to the Fairbanks Community Food Bank! Thank you, Samantha Kirstein, for sharing amazing stories about how the Fairbanks community has supported the Food Bank through the pandemic. Fairbanks Golden Rotary is proud to be a part of the Golden City.
We are so grateful to partner with the Breast Cancer Detection Center to provide support and volunteers for the AK Girls Walk & Wine 2K/5K. This year's Walk & Wine was virtual and raised money for BCDC. We are excited to accept this check for $1,000 to fund Golden Heart Rotary's summer running club.
