Wow!

Look at the Past Presidents of the Rotary Club of Freeport; all these Men and women have rendered service to our community through rotary and continue to be committed to the ideals of the organization, even after 53 years. President Queen chose to honor the Past Presidents of the Club, during the anniversary celebrations. They were hosted to special eats and drinks, and a tribute in song.

Commitment to any cause is not always easy; These Past Presidents juggle their responsibilities to family, work, and in some cases, other civic organizations to remain active members of their club, with the exception of two individuals. Both PP Paula Harris and PP Rengin Johnson, continues to support the club in all its endeavors.

The community of Grand Bahama has benefited much through various programs of the Rotary Club of Freeport, such as: its Scholarship program, Operation Raleigh that exposed young people to different cultures around the world, The Admiral Lord Nelson which was a special ship outfitted for persons with disabilities, the Lucayan National Park, the Grand Bahama Emergency Water Relief Foundation, the rebuilding of the YMTA Center in Pinder’s Point after Hurricane Frances and Jeanne in 2004, and more modern day programs that are still on-going like our Annual Food Drive, Legal Clinic, and an Essay Competition in the High Schools based on the Rotary 4-Way test.
