Opening
Past President Joel Conn called the meeting to order. A warm thank you to Greg Baker for starting us off with a moment of inspiration and leading the club in the flag salute.
We also extended a warm Five Cities welcome to our visiting Rotarian, Jeffrey, from a club near Juneau, Alaska. Great to have you with us!

A Somber Note: Remembering John Weiss
Michael Boyer shared the sad news of the passing of our dear friend and fellow Rotarian, John Weiss. John was an amazing Rotarian whose dedication and friendship touched us all. He will be deeply missed. Services will be held this Saturday. Our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.
Announcements & Club Business
Fiscalini Ranch Outing: Anya reminded everyone about the upcoming planned activity to the beautiful Fiscalini Ranch. Be sure to sign up for a great day of fellowship and nature!
Community Service: Michelle gave a reminder about two key service events on the horizon: Trunk or Treat and collecting Casa Gifts. Please see her to find out how you can help our community.
District Conference: A reminder was given about the upcoming District Conference. It's a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow Rotarians and learn more about our district's impact.
International Service: John Travasaro highlighted the urgent need for more funding to support animal shelters in Ukraine. Your contributions can make a world of difference.
Fines & Fun
Past President Joel Conn was at the helm, levying fines for members celebrating recent birthdays and anniversaries. Happy celebrations to all!
A special congratulations to Greg Baker, who was awarded the coveted fine-free badge for the week!
Guest Speaker: Pacific Wildlife
We were treated to a fascinating presentation by Karen from Pacific Wildlife, who spoke on the topic of tarantula ecology. Karen shared incredible facts and helped dispel common myths about these amazing creatures.
The highlight of the presentation was getting to meet her special guest: Ross, the pet tarantula! Thank you, Karen, for an educational and memorable program.
Closing
The meeting wrapped up with the 50/50 raffle. The pot continues to grow, as there was no winner this week!
Finally, Joel Conn sent us off with a smile (and a groan) with the Dad Joke of the Day.
