Minutes of May 1st Pismo Beach – 5 Cities Rotary Meeting

          Invocation was given by Ashlea Boyer
          Flag Salute was led by Greg Baker
          Numerous guest were introduced, including Trusha, Sylvia Dodd, David Archer, Jeff Smith, Ed Fish, Deb Gleason, Jan Hensley and Danny Martinez.
Community Giving Grant
            Scott Astrosky presented a check to Deb Gleason for the Exploration Station.  Deb gave a brief talk about how her organization would use the funds.
Announcements
Rotarians of the Month
President Jeff announced the Rotarians of the Month. They are:
Karen Zappia for the Soccer Tournament
Erik Mund for the Group 10 Softball Tournament Paul Holden for Highway Clean-up
Golf Tournament
          Steve Curry gave an update on the Golf Tournament which is next Monday, May 7, 2018.  
          Erik Mund reported that we have 102 Tee Sponsors
          Jenny Dierck reported that we have several Corporate Sponsorships
          Ashlea Boyer reported that she has 45 to 50 raffle prizes and would welcome a few   more.                                                           
          Connie O’Henley reported that we have 140 golfers signed up.  We need just one       more four-some.  She requested volunteers to help at registration.
          We need 8 volunteers to observe the hole-in-one tee and hole. We have a Chevy Truck for the winner.

Program
  RYLA
            Connie O’Henley introduced 8 students who participated in the recent RYLA event.  They are Carley P. Levi F., Emery A., Kobe H., Cynthia H., Sara B., Hannah B. and Cole M.  Each student shared memorable events including the rope challenge, talent show and diversity program. Each thanked the club for the opportunity to attend this year’s program.
Interact
          Connie O’Henley introduced five officers from the Arroyo Grande High School Interact Club.  They are Kimi W.  Danielle, Jennah E., Stephania S. and Amina A.  Each is a senior and informed the club of their plans for college and areas of study.  They provided an overview of the club’s projects, which include Beautification Day, Halloween Bags for Prado Day Center, Letters to Gift and Peace, Caroling for Cans, Christmas Gifts for St. Patrick’s Outreach Program, Freshman Orientation and their international project raising money in partnership with Chipotle’s restaurant raising $627.00 for International H2O Collaboration.
