Speaker:  Michael Boyer - Member Use of Club Runner and Box
For our program this afternoon Michael Boyer briefed the club on best practices on how to use Club Runner and Box as communications tools for our membership.  Both Club Runner and Box are accessible to all members on their desktops and as mobile apps that can be accessed from their phones or other portable devices. Through Club Runner members can keep their information up to date (email and physical addresses, etc.) and send emails or notifications to all active and honorary members.  It is also a great tool as a directory for members to interconnect with other members. Members can also update designations through Club Runner and track attendance records.
All members have access to our clubs Box account and can add items of their own (pictures from club events) and access information entered from other members. All information in our Box account is archived so we can look back on our club events historically.
Karen Zappia our new President Elect Nominee was our Rotarian of the Week.  She shared how she was brought into the club by Michael and Ashlea Boyer and liked the idea of being able to give back to the community through Rotary.  She is part owner in a specialty sunglass company called "Live Eyewear".  They make specialty sunglasses for people with Macular Degeneration and other eye problems. Karen was also inspired by the Ugandan Yofafo program.  She is a avid Green Bay Packer fan, who has named her dog Lambeau in honor of her favorite team.
Announcements: Jim Lewis reminded the club of next weeks "Rotary Thanksgiving" meeting. Members are encouraged to bring wine for the table and a traditional Thanksgiving meal will be served. Our speaker will give Thanksgiving food and wine tips.  Anya Stanley asked members to RSVP for the Holiday Party on 12/3 at John and Marcia Traversaro's home.  It is a potluck with members asked to bring a salad, side dish or dessert. We will also have a gift exchange. Linda Osty announced that the 7th Annual Christmas movie will be on Saturday, December 14th at 10:15 am.  Admission is free to all with non-perishable food items and/or unwrapped toys that we will donate to St. Patrick's Outreach Program.  This year's movie is, "It Happened On 5th Avenue".
Scott Astrosky and Joel Conn filled the club in on some sad news.  Mark Olsen's dad passed away this past Sunday, after a long bout with Pancreatic Cancer.
Recognitions: Sharon Ellis was recognized by President Jack Hardy for her Club Anniversary and fined $22. One dollar for each year in our club.  Linda Osty and Maryann Reiss were also fined.
