Speaker: A special Veterans Day program honored the veterans in our club.  They include; President Jack Hardy, Eddie Salame, Scott Astrosky and Steve Curry.  Linda Osty's husband Ken, a Vietnam era vet was also present.  Linda talked about the 15,000 "Thank You" postcards she has sent over the years to troops serving overseas.  Anya Stanley, shared her dad's story.  He was a career military man who served during WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnamese War.  Deenie Dotson talked about her dad's WWI military experience and brought her dad's uniform to show to the club.  Scott served in the Air Force for more than 20 years and he spoke of his various deployments and experiences during his time in the military. Jack, who served in the Naval Air Corps during the early 1970's shared a bit about his military experience and also talked about his dad, who was wounded during the Korean War and wrote a book, "Birth On The Battlefield", memorializing his experiences. Steve, served in Vietnam for more than a year and spoke about how his friends surprised him on his return to California, by painting "Welcome Home Steve Curry" on the side of a barn. That tradition was carried on in his home town by painting over Steve's name with the names of each vet who subsequently returned.
Announcements:  Scott Astrosky opened an Annual Club Meeting with an official motion to nominate Shannon Bowdey as President Elect and Karen Zappia as President Elect Nominee.  Both motions carried and the club now has our next two Presidents in place.
