Information for New or Prospective Members

Welcome to Sunrise Rotary!
Welcome to our global community of more than 1.2 million men and women dedicated to building a better world.
You make Rotary stronger. By adding your skills, experience, and enthusiasm to our club, you can advance communities at home and on a global scale. Together, we can eradicate polio, train more skilled peacemakers, and provide lasting solutions for communities fighting disease, hunger, illiteracy, and poverty.
Through the Rotary community, you can exchange ideas and build lifelong friendships with like-minded people. Take advantage of the resources and activities available through our club, district, and Rotary International to make your experience with Rotary both rewarding and fun.
How do I start?
Our process is fairly simple:
- Familiarize yourself with the info in this Thinking about Rotary Club of Santa Cruz Sunrise document
- Attend 3 meetings as our guest - info about the meetings is on the home page
- Receive a nomination from a club member (if needed, the new member team will be happy to find you someone)
- Complete a club application
- Be engaged in club activities, pay annual dues and contribute to the Rotary Foundation
I became a member. Now what?
Once your application is approved, you become what we call a Red Badger i.e. New Member. Rotary has a Red Badge to Blue Badge process. The red or maroon badge is intended to highlight you as a new member and encourage Sunrise members to introduce themselves and welcome you to the club. New members get a Blue Badge after completing a list of requirements.
We track your red badge to blue badge completion on a spreadsheet (login required to view / link coming soon).
