Last Week . . .
A bit of business took place this week as club members voted to approve Dave Price as President Nominee. Dave's service will be for the club year 2025/26. And while we congratulate him for this, we also offer congratulations on his soon to be status as grandfather, no voting necessary.
John Flaniken announced two travel opportunities. The first is the District 5170 Wheelchair Distribution in the Philippines September 7th - 14th this year.

The second trip is also a D5170 Wheelchair Distribution event but this time to Our Lady of Guadelupe in Mexico City. This trip will be in the spring of 2024. To learn more about this trip,
click here. Both are great opportunities to travel with Rotarians on an important mission and have the opportunity to visit a new place and take in the culture.
Peggy Pollard presented the state of the international grants and work we've undertaken over the last decade. Peggy spoke about her July visit to our club’s Uganda global grant project partner, Rotary Club of Kasese Uganda, and their celebration of our two global grant projects. More than 200 people attended, including government leaders, TV, radio, and print reporters, and schoolchildren who gave speeches, danced, and sang.
Our Club's 10 year partnership for Water and Sanitation and Economic Development projects serves 3,000 people in Lhuhwahwa village in Kasese, Uganda.
In addition to her time in Uganda, she had the opportunity to visit Rotarians in India where we provided financial support during the pandemic.

Young Professionals Rotary Satellite Club
Sponsored by Santa Cruz Sunrise Rotary, the new Young Professionals Rotary Satellite Club was created to connect the next generation of Rotarians. There was a huge desire amongst the younger community to have a way to meet new people and participate in the community. Hence, the Satellite Club was formed as a way to connect and network with like minded individuals and of course, do good for our community and world. If you know of any young professionals interested in joining, we have a social meeting every other Tuesday at 6:30pm (location varies).
Our founding members include: Meghan Morse, Tanner Gilbert, Jeremy Medina, Haleigh Washburn, Lucas Junod, Matthew Morse, Joseph Holquist, Krysta Neff, Randy Uang, Nico Schneider, Alex Baker, Hannah Kelley, and Sean Foster.
