Red Badge Bios
Most of us lead lives that give us a variety of experiences. And then there's Jen Karno whose experiences so far range from being a stage performer to video game producer to community service leader, coach entrepreneur, instructor, and consultant. And then she has hobbies including mountain biking, backpacking, jazzand music studies, travel, trail running, and reading. Whew. Watch this week's video to hear it all for yourself and if you haven't already met Jen, say hi at our next meeting.
Our second Red Badge Bio this week was given by Lucas Junod. Lucas who has already enjoyed the Rotary experience through his father's (Mark) leadership and service. Lucas is a Santa Cruz native working here in the county doing mortgage lending and building his life in the community. Lucas is a veteran of living with exchange students, running in the Firecracker, and helping wrap barrels. He's an avid biker, snow-boarder and all around athlete. Make sure to introduce yourself at the next meeting.

Area 7 Charitable Giving Workshop
Rotary District 5170 has put together a workshop on charitable giving to help us and our family and friends optimize our charitable giving strategies. This is an exclusive event for our Area 7 clubs here in Santa Cruz County. There is a powerhouse lineup of presentations by knowledgeable professionals on various topics, including Emily Buchbinder’s presentation on lifetime giving.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Santa Cruz County (BBBSSC) annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser is April 22 and 23. BBBSSC has created a Sunrise registration page and reserved a time for us from 11:45am to 1:00pm on Saturday, April 22. Click the link to sign up as an individual or a team. If spots fill up, more can be added. BBBSSC requests that each bowler donate or raise at least $100 and that each team raise at least $500. Please contact Debra Feldstein with any questions.
Generators for Ukraine. We raised $7,360 from 24 members to purchase 13 generators for Ukraine.
RYLA 2023 June 24-29 we have secured 6 camper spots. Registration is mid-March. Club members are invited to nominate someone they know. To learn more, contact Dave Mello.
