This week's speaker was Stefano Profumo, Professor of Physics at UCSC and Director of the Santa Cruz Institute of Particle Physics. In addition to his physics work, he's a "kick-ass" triathlete who has transitioned from being a pack-a-day smoker to a champion triathlete.
So, what does dark matter have to do with banana slugs? Can science be a fun endeavor for married couples? And will we ever be able to travel faster than the speed of light? No attempt will be made here to explain dark matter, dark energy, gravitational waves, or that the universe is finite.
