Red Badge Biographies

It was a pleasure to meet and learn a bit about our latest Red Bader's in this installment of Red Bad Biographies. These three prospective club members each gave an excellent presentation on their backgrounds and the varied paths leading to Santa Cruz and their current lives.

Randy Parker is a Bay Area native and Cal grad. He's with JR Parish in sales and Leasing of commercial real estate. Together with his wife of 10 years and 2 great kids they live in the sumit area and enjoy all manner of outdoor activities. Randy has also been involved with the Scotts Valley Chamber and the Charlie Weidemeir ALS program.

Tom Knott is a grizzled Rotary old-timer with 19+ years under his belt. He recently transfered from a Monterey area club to the sunnier side of the bay. Not wasting any time or any of his talents, Tom immediately stepped up to assuming the Club Service Committee chairmanship. When he's not herding rotarian cats for Club Service, Tom operates Tom Knott & Associates Consulting Mechanical Engineers.

Karen Gosling joins us via a most circuitous and interesting life path. Beginning as a youth in England with aspirations to become a professional volleyball player, she followed her evolving dreams to ultimately arrive at her perfect profession; a Physical Therapist at the Dominican Rehab center specializing in working with spinal cord injury and MS patients. After deciding to join Rotary and looking at many clubs in the area, Karen chose the Santa Cruz Sunrise club because "it's by far the most fun and active."
