The goal of Project Pajamas is to provide a new pair of PJ's to every child in a homeless shelter or other form of emergency housing in Santa Cruz County.  Children leave their homes when their parents are in distress, perhaps with a mother who is fleeing a batterer, or an addicted parent who seeks treatment. Or, perhaps they simply do not have a home at all.  They often come to the shelters with nothing but the clothes on their backs.  Whatever the causes of the distress, it is not the child's fault nor under their control.  It must be very scary to spend nights in an unknown place.  Project Pajamas believes that if the child is given a new pair of pajamas their very first night, they may feel a little warmer and safer and perhaps will sleep better.

Originally the brainchild of Ari Symons, Project Pajamas has been adopted by Twin Lakes Church and the Santa Cruz Bible Church as part of their annual ShareFest program (www.SantaCruzFest.org).  Over the years, they have delivered thousands of pajamas to kids throughout the county.

We are currenly accepting pajamas. Please drop them off with Club President, Penni Bengtson.
