Opened in 1986 by Lance Stackhouse, The K-9 Clinic (www.k9clinic.com) is a locally owned and operated facility located on 10 beautiful acres in Corralitos, CA. The K-9 Clinic offers quality dog training for dogs of all sizes and breeds.

Lance has over 14 years experience as a K-9 Officer for the Watsonville Police Department and specializes in obedience, training camps and behavior modification.  Club member Carol Canaris, Lance's sponsor today and a client, demonstrated with her own dog some of the amazing skills taught in Lance's program.

According to Lance, dog training is a black-and-white process; it's all about establishing a conditioned response.  Using a model of positive reinforcement, Lance believes the doggie treat is mightier than the choke collar.  Regardless of the role for which the dog is being trained: Bark and Alert, Protection or Police work, the underlying theory is the same.  It's all a game to fido!   Properly teach the dog how to play the game, and you will have a successfully trained animal.

Lance's presentation was one of the more lively and informative events we've experienced at 7:45 on a Tuesday morning.  His 3 police chase videos with Lance's K-9 sidekick bringing down the bad guys (in one case most painfully utilizing the uniquely male grab point) and his live demonstrations where very convincing!
