Adopt-a-Family Needs Volunteers
Adopt-A-Family is one of many excellent programs sponsored by the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz County . "For over thirty years, the Volunteer Centers of Santa Cruz County have been connecting people who care with non-profit agencies who need volunteers." Adpot-a-Family helps more that 400 of the county's neediest families to have a special holiday by providing gifts and other items of need.
Peggy Alberti is organizing the effort to collect gifts for the family that our club is adopting. Peggy will be circulating a sign-up sheet during our club meeting for that project.
Charles' effort is separate and, as noted above, involves staffing the Santa Cruz collection center.
The following is Charles' call for help.
Dear Club Members:
I am organizing the Santa Cruz Warehouse for Adopt-A-Family and am looking for volunteers to assist me in the warehouse.
The job entails checking in gifts that are delivered by a donating family or person/s. There is no heavy lifting involved.
I am looking for assistance on:
If you can assist at any of these times or part of those times I would be most grateful. I will pass around a sign up sheet at Tuesday's meeting. If you are not going to be at that meeting and would like to help thenplease send me an email.
The address we will be working at is 435 Front Street, Santa Cruz
There is also an Adpot-A-Family site in Watsonville at Martinelli's, 735 West Beach Av. Bernice will be looking for assistance there as well, the times are the same as above.
