As previewed a few days ago in the Special Edition of the Transmitter, this forum is a time for 100% attendance and an ideal opportunity to bring guests. It features two highly regarded local speakers, both CEOs of their companies and each an expert in their field of real estate. Rod Messick, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Homesale Realty, will cover the state of the residential market, and Mark Fitzgerald, CEO at High Associates, will discuss the state of the commercial real estate market in Lancaster County. Each brings a unique perspective and expert opinion to the topic, including supply and demand, property prices, interest rates, and national trends.

Mark Fitzgerald is President and Chief Operating Officer of High Real Estate Group LLC and High Associates Ltd. He oversees High Real Estate Group and its affiliates High Associates, High Hotels Ltd., High Safety Consulting Services Ltd., and High Investors Ltd. He also leads the planning, development, and implementation of strategic plans for the High Real Estate Group real estate portfolio.
Mark also leads High Associates' operating companies which serve a broad array of clients in the areas of development, brokerage, appraisal, renovation, and facility services. The High Real Estate Group portfolio consists of more than 10 million square feet, including commercial, industrial, retail, multi-family residential properties, and hotels located throughout the Eastern United States.
Active in business and community activities through his leadership roles in various organizations, Mark serves on the Board of the Fulton Theatre. His past service includes serving as a Loaned Executive to United Way; Leadership Lancaster; Finance Committee Chair for PA Dutch Council Boy Scouts of America; and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Schreiber Pediatric Rehab Center of Lancaster County.
Rod Messick is the Chief Executive Officer for Homesale Realty Services Group, Inc. Prior to his selection as CEO in May of 2019, Rod worked as Homesale’s CFO and COO.
Homesale Realty operates as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Homesale Realty, which is the largest seller of real estate in Central Pennsylvania and has expanded to serve Maryland, Virginia, DC, and West Virginia. The Company has a total of 36 offices in 16 counties and over 1200 agents.
His civilian career began as a mortgage loan officer. Before joining the housing industry, Rod served with honor in the United States Navy as a P-3 Orion Naval Flight Officer.
Rod has served on two publicly traded community bank boards, numerous nonprofit boards and several industry advisory boards. He holds a BS from the Naval Academy and MS from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and School of Engineering and Applied Science.
Rod resides in Lancaster, PA with his wife and two daughters. He spends free time golfing, flyfishing, skiing, and sailing.

We had a great turnout of members and many guests for Marjorie O’Rourke’s program. Thanks Lisa for inviting her.
Lisa introduced our speaker with a glowing report on her experience after a session with Ms. O’Rourke.
Ms. O’Rourke had a normal childhood growing up in a Lutheran family. She was told understandably that the fact she could see angels and talk to them was better kept secret and not shared with others. She went to college studying elementary education and graduated to a normal life outwardly. Some years later when she confided in someone who understood her gift, she was able to begin openly discussing her experiences – which most people have never experienced and fail to understand.
In her presentation, her experiences became more understandable when she opened up the program to questions. Here is a sampling:
Spirits can have a physical presence.
Angels are real and help with healing and business decisions.
No, she does not see Hell, but she believes that the closest thing to Hell is reliving things that people are not proud of, until they can ask for forgiveness.
Yes, she sees evidence of reincarnation constantly, spirits coming back in material objects.
Everyone seemed to agree that wherever they are on the spiritual spectrum, an open mind made it an interesting and upbeat meeting.
Rotary Rendezvous has become a highlight of RCL business and social gatherings, and a fun event for current and potential new members. Anyone who is interested in joining our committee, looking for fellowship, or simply a night out, please join us for Rotary Rendezvous on Wednesday, May 10, at Southern Market in Lancaster. Parking is available at the Steinman garage or folks can find side street parking.
Rotary Rendezvous meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
Arrive anytime between 5-5:30pm for drinks and fellowship.

Club goes cashless
Since our meals are now are included in our dues, there is only a need to pay for meals when we bring guests. Cash will not be accepted. Only credit cards will be accepted.

Dues modification during Leave of Absence
The new dues structure remains in place. However, any member may request a 3-month leave of absence. Dues will be $122 for this three-month period.
