President Ben’s term is ending and I’m sure he will recap his year and note the accomplishments the club made in spite of the pandemic this past year.
President-Elect Rob
President-elect Rob and the Board will recognize Ben for his service and commitment to the Club during his year as President. A gift from the Board will be presented to Ben. President Ben will then pass the gavel to President-elect Rob.
President Rob will then address the Club on his upcoming year, covering traditions, goals, programs and items for his upcoming year.
This meeting is always heartwarming and exciting! We are fortunate to have the quality of membership and succession plan in place for the leadership of our Club.

Returning to Physical Meetings at the Farm & Home Center June 30. Please RSVP!

Reminder: If you plan on attending the June 30th meeting, please let Kathy Hainley know by emailing her at rotarycluboflancaster@gmail.com.
In order to inform Hess's BBQ and the Farm & Home Center of an accurate count, we ask that you RSVP before Friday, June 25.
Our top priority is to abide by the CDC Guidelines and follow safety protocol. The following guidelines will assist all of you to be safe and comfortable.
Masks are preferred except when eating or drinking. Please bring your own mask.
There will be no Greeter, no Registration Table.
Badges will not be set out.
Payment of lunch will be taken by Kathy Hainley inside the meeting room. Attendance will not be taken.
There will be hand sanitizers before you enter the meeting room and placed on all of the tables in the room.
There will be 4 people per table, allowing social distancing.
Hess’s Catering will be serving the meal cafeteria style, meaning Hess’s Helpers will be placing the food onto your plate. Water and iced tea will be bottled.Coffee will be served to individuals by the Hess’s staff.
There will be a head table on stage for the outgoing President and incoming President.
The Meeting will be virtual and in-person. The Zoom invitation will be emailed to everyone and will also be listed in the Transmitter.
As we enter into this new phase of normalcy, we are thankful that we will be seeing one another once again, so it is important that we maintain social distancing and follow the guidelines as mentioned. It has been a rough year for all of us and now it is time to talk with one another to begin the healing process.

Rotary Foundation
Rotary has taken a leadership role for several decades to eradicate polio worldwide. That long term commitment is proof that Rotarians stick to the job until we’re satisfied the job is done.
Each year, members of the Rotary Club of Lancaster send in contributions in May and June to try and meet our annual goal of $30,000. Right now, we’re about half way to meeting that goal. You can do your part by contributing to either Polio Plus, the International Rotary Foundation’s annual fund, or make a legacy gift to the Rotary Club of Lancaster’s Foundation (a 501.c.3).
To support the International Rotary Foundation, please send your check payable to “Rotary Club of Lancaster”. Note you want it to go to the International Rotary Foundation in the check memo. Send check to:

New Program Ideas Wanted
Tom Gemmill can use recommendations for new programs. If you have any ideas, please contact Tom at tomgemmill.tg@gmail.com. The programs we have are truly phenomenal. Kudos to Tom for such great programs and for all of the effort he puts into tracking down and scheduling these speakers and getting their programs summaries and bios. Great job Tom!

Wheels and Wings Coming July 24!
Our 2021 Wheels and Wings Festival & 5K will be held Saturday, July 24, at Lancaster Airport. It starts with a 5K run through Brethren Village at 7:30 am. The car show and fly-in will run from 9 am to 2 pm. We’ve confirmed that we’ll have a Southern Airways Express plane on display along with the Liberty Warbirds’ Huey helicopter, and we’ll be giving away (as door or raffle prizes) two round-trip tickets to all of Southern’s destinations from Lancaster: Washington-Dulles, Pittsburgh, and Nantucket!
Wheels and Wings is now our Club’s only major fundraiser. It provides the funding for the Summer Youth Experience and all of our local and global service projects. So far we have $6,000 in sponsorship commitments. All Club members are asked to help in two ways: 1) Become a sponsor or ask your business contacts and friends to do so. Donations to the event can be made online at www.lancasterrotary.org/donate/. Contact Jamie Alton at jalton141@comcast.net with any sponsorship questions. 2) Plan to volunteer the day of the event. We’ll need all hands on deck! More details on volunteer opportunities will be forthcoming closer to the big day.

Joy: Sam Mecum is honored to present Rotary Past President Bob Minney (2001-2) for induction into the J. P. McCaskey Athletic Hall of Fame at the Friday, October 22nd football game between McCaskey and Manheim Township.
Joy: Stephen Gunzenhauser shot a hole-in-one at Meadia Heights GC on Tuesday.
All Rotarians – especially committee chairs – are encouraged to help keep our new Club Calendar full and updated with the great things that our Club is doing in the community.
