As President Beth begins her term of office she will share with us her vision for the Rotary Club of Lancaster during the 2023-24 Rotary year. Her goals will be framed around our mission, strategic plan, the Rotary Four Way Test and the current focus of Rotary International to “Create Hope in the World.”
In her professional life, Beth serves as the Vice President of Advancement & Communications with Landis Communities in Lititz, Pennsylvania. With over 30 years of experience in the non-profit environment with organizations like the American Heart Association and the National Committee to Prevent Child Abuse, Beth has always found meaning in being able to connect to the mission and vision of an organization. She has been with Landis Communities since May of 2014. Hired as their first VP of Advancement, she expanded her scope of work to include oversight of the Communications Team in September of 2018.
Beth joined the Rotary Club of Lancaster in October of 2014 and was soon asked to chair the 100th Anniversary Gala event. She took on leadership of the PR Committee in 2016 and has been on the Wheels and Wings Committee since inception, overseeing volunteers for two events. Beth was elected to the Board of Directors in July of 2018.
Beth’s other volunteer passion is with Bridge of Hope. She began serving on the National Board in 2016 and Co-Chaired their annual Gala for five years. In her work and volunteer roles, Beth continually seeks to build relationships and trust through clear and open communication.
Beth is originally from Wisconsin but moved to Texas to attend Abilene Christian University where she earned her BA in Interpersonal Communications. Lancaster County became her home in 1989 and she currently lives in Lititz. She has been married to Jason for almost fifteen years and has two children and two stepchildren. Beth values time with family. She enjoys antiques and art in various forms.

President Beth presided over the first meeting in her term as president even though she was wearing a medical boot she was fitted with after recent foot surgery.
When Chip Kirchner introduced "Teke" Drummond, he explained that employer-based health insurance didn't exist before WWII. The War Board made employer-based health insurance tax-free for the employer and the employee. Since then, many companies have been challenged to keep up with the cost of health insurance for their employees.
Robert "Teke" Drummond is the Executive Director of Corporate Partnerships for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, where he creates strategic relationships with employers and develops services to enhance the value of healthcare. One of the newest programs is HealthWorks which LGH pioneered at Rock Lititz and they call it Rock Medical.
Rock Medical is an employer-sponsored primary care and wellness service designed to help employees and their family members stay in the best health possible. Rock Medical contracts with the employers.
Each health clinic is located at or near the workplace and offers convenient access to care. Experienced health care professionals, including family medicine-trained physician assistants, LPNs and certified medical assistants, staff the clinic 40 hours a week.
Members or employees partner with the provider to manage their health, address illnesses and chronic conditions, and develop personalized plans to meet their wellness goals. With a focus on wellness, many serious conditions like high blood pressure, heart disease, and diabetes may be treated early or prevented entirely.
All care is overseen by a physician and backed by Lancaster General Health, one of Lancaster County’s largest and most experienced health systems. They bring the best of Lancaster General Health care right to your workplace.
Participating employers include Clair Global, Moravian Manor, United Zion Retirement Community, Pyrotek, Stray Productions, Lititz Springs/Bull’s Head and Woodstream Corporation. The participating employers are self-insured.
Other Healthworks locations are Meadowview Health in Lititz for Landis Homes employees; Messick's Equipment in Mount Joy; Queen Street in Lancaster; Rock Wellness, a second Rock Wellness location in Lititz; Moravian Manor in Lititz; Willow Street in Willow Street.
Rotary Rendezvous has become a highlight of RCL business and social gatherings, and a fun event for current and potential new members. Anyone who is interested in joining our committee, looking for fellowship, or simply a night out, please join us for Rotary Rendezvous on Wednesday, July 26, at Southern Market in Lancaster. Parking is available at the Steinman garage or folks can find side street parking.
Rotary Rendezvous meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
Arrive anytime between 5-5:30pm for drinks and fellowship.

Club goes cashless in August
Since our meals are now are included in our dues, there is only a need to pay for meals when we bring guests. Cash will be accepted in July, but in August only credit cards will be accepted.

Dues modification during Leave of Absence
The new dues structure remains in place. However, any member may request a 3-month leave of absence. Dues will be $122 for this three-month period.

Our Club is always looking for ideas to add to the list of potential programs. If you have any ideas for programs, please contact Christine Sable (sableccim@gmail.com) or another member of the Meeting Planning Committee or any Board member, who will pass them along. Both live and virtual (Zoom) speakers are welcome.
The programs the Lancaster Rotary Club offers are important for our club and, with your help and participation, have often been truly phenomenal.
