Per latest CDC guidance, people in areas reporting “High” community transmission rates are urged to wear masks indoors regardless of their vaccination status. A positivity rate of 10% or above is High. Lancaster County's rate is 9.1%. A new case rate of 100 or above per 100,000 is High. Lancaster County's rate is 111.

Transformed Businesses, Transformed Communities: Why Business as Usual Must Change
Mike Mason has recently joined the ASSETS' team as Chief Program Officer. Mason graduated from Central Penn College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Before joining the ASSETS' team, Mason worked at Water Street Mission helping to develop the StepUp Program which focuses on providing coaching and career readiness training to guests and families experiencing homelessness. Prior to working at Water Street Mission Mason served as Executive Pastor for Journey Church helping to manage weekly operations while leading student ministry and developing staff culture. Mason also has over ten years of financial services experience working at Belco Credit Union and other financial institutions as a Soft Skills Trainer, Branch Manager, and Consumer Lending Representative. Mason believes in the impact that organizations can have in helping to use business as a force for good while helping to build an economy where everyone can prosper.
Mason is a Philadelphia native and currently resides in Lancaster with his wife and 13-year-old daughter.
President Rob would like to announce in-person meetings will begin on Wednesday, March 2 at the Farm & Home Center. As usual, lunch is available at 11:50 AM or earlier and social time (which we all are looking forward to), continues until 12:30 PM when we begin the meeting.
The Club is not requiring the wearing of masks, but it is up to you if you want to wear one.
When attending the in-person meetings, we ask that you use common sense and consider all safety precautions regarding a healthy environment as you see fit..
We will continue to have hand sanitizers throughout the room at the Farm & Home Center
The Club will continue to offer a Zoom option for our regular meetings.

Joseph Campbell (sponsor is Brad Reynolds). The Board has approved the new member. If no objections are received by Club members, he will be inducted as soon as he is available to do so.

Rotary Rendezvous meeting March 9
Rotary Rendezvous has resumed in person meetings. The next meeting is March 9. Details will be announced.
Wheels, Wings & 5K Committee Announces Date: June 25
The Wheels, Wings, & 5K Committee met on February 16 and determined the date in 2022 is June 25. Volunteers will be solicited for all positions. Please join them to make our Club's signature community event and fundraiser a roaring success this year.
Lancaster Rotary has honored those in our community who have dedicated their lives to community service through our annual Community Service award, as well as three students from the Lancaster City high schools that have done the same. This year, in addition to those awards, we are expanding our reach with a different kind of awardee--an every day hero.
Each month, Lancaster Rotary will honor service stars in our community--ordinary people in our Lancaster community who are going above and beyond every day in their work. The past year and a half has been difficult for so many people in Lancaster and we hope to honor those who have been shining brightest--a nurse who helped you get your vaccine, a neighbor who has delivered food for those in need, a grocery store cashier who makes your smile every time you visit. Awardees will receive a gift card and recognition from Rotary of their contribution to our community.
Lancaster Rotarians have been volunteering for Power Packs for children in the School District of Lancaster (Washington Elementary and Reynolds Middle School) for years. The last couple of years we have been very short on volunteers.
COVID has changed the role of a volunteer and reduced time commitments.
In this environment, we are looking for volunteers to pick up boxes of food at the Power Packs warehouse and deliver to Washington and Reynolds on Wednesdays at 10:30AM. The whole pick up and delivery takes about an hour and you can definitely make the Rotary meeting afterwards. Mid-size or larger SUVs and vans would be ideal, but if we can assemble some two vehicle teams we can split the loads. There is a physical aspect to loading and unloading the boxes, but if needed we can get help from the warehouse and schools.
Volunteers do not have to commit to every week. The coordinator sends an email the month prior asking for availability of volunteer and creates a schedule accordingly.
Please consider serving in this worthwhile program.
In the near future, members credit card processing will be available for payments of lunches, dues, etc.

The programs the Lancaster Rotary Club has are truly phenomenal. Kudos to Tom for such great programs and for all of the effort he puts into tracking down and scheduling these speakers and getting their programs summaries, bios and introducers. Great job Tom! We appreciate it.
