"Employer-Provider Partnership to Innovate Healthcare"
The Lancaster County healthcare ecosystem is nationally recognized for quality, safety, community impact and innovation. However, many employees and residents remain disengaged from medical “homes” due to cost sharing, limited access, and less valued provider relationships. Consequently, routine care that promotes wellbeing is delayed or avoided, and inevitably more complex illnesses result in greater urgency, more costly procedures, specialists, and medications, and secondarily, affect work productivity/costs. We are simply a microcosm of the broader United States and this has inspired employers and providers to partner to innovate healthcare to ensure better value for their community.
The objectives of Drummond’s presentation are: 1) familiarize you to the current Lancaster County Healthcare Ecosystem; 2) provide an overview of the historical strategies to manage utilization of care to control costs; and 3) discuss innovative care models with a focus on the relationship/partnership of employer and health provider to optimize the shared value of care.
Robert "Teke" Drummond is the Executive Director of Corporate Partnerships for Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, where he creates strategic relationships with employers and develops services to enhance the value of healthcare. Mr. Drummond is a physical therapist with a bachelor’s degree from Juniata College and a master’s degree from Drexel University. He is also a Navy veteran, graduate of the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School Executive Healthcare Management Program and holds an MBA from Lebanon Valley College. He has acquired over 25 years of health care leadership experiences, presented at national conferences, and has been an adjunct faculty at West Virginia University, Lebanon Valley College, and Pennsylvania College for Health Sciences. Mr. Drummond devotes much of his time to furthering community development through board positions with Lancaster City Alliance, YMCA of the Roses, Central Pennsylvania Business Group on Health, Preferred Health Care, the Juniata College Alumni Council, and formerly the Aspire Ventures Smart Health Innovation Lab and Lancaster Safety Coalition.

We kept traditions like bell ringing, holiday party, and meeting format.
We hosted a Fed economic outlook, with media coverage.
Our Judicial Forum with media coverage was a great success.
We hosted the McCaskey Mentorship Graduation.
We sponsored attendees to the District RYLA.
We hosted the 4-H Strawberry Roundup and Auction.
We packed 10,000 meals for Food Hub.
We painted clubfoot braces for Hope Walks.
We separated Club and Foundation accounts & balanced the budgets.
We secured a grant for the Refugee Center.
We tested all activities to the Strategic Plan and 4-Way Test.

Rotary Rendezvous meets July 12!
Rotary Rendezvous has become a highlight of RCL business and social gatherings, and a fun event for current and potential new members. Anyone who is interested in joining our committee, looking for fellowship, or simply a night out, please join us for Rotary Rendezvous on Wednesday, July 12, at Southern Market in Lancaster. Parking is available at the Steinman garage or folks can find side street parking.
Rotary Rendezvous meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.
Arrive anytime between 5-5:30pm for drinks and fellowship.

Dues modification during Leave of Absence
The new dues structure remains in place. However, any member may request a 3-month leave of absence. Dues will be $122 for this three-month period.

Our Club is always looking for ideas to add to the list of potential programs. If you have any ideas for programs, please contact Christine Sable (sableccim@gmail.com) or another member of the Meeting Planning Committee or any Board member, who will pass them along. Both live and virtual (Zoom) speakers are welcome.
The programs the Lancaster Rotary Club offers are important for our club and, with your help and participation, have often been truly phenomenal.
