Marjorie O’Rourke, International Psychic Medium, will be sharing her experience with our club as a psychic and will talk about some of the interesting psychic phenomena she has experienced. She will also discuss various topics including miracles, angels, healing modalities, and messages she has received from Heaven.
Majorie welcomes all your questions and just asks that you come with an open heart and mind.
Marjorie, a Lancaster native, was born with a unique gift of synesthesia: the ability to experience life through her psychic intuition. She was raised in a conservative Lutheran family, however; since she was a young girl, she was endowed with a special gift: she could see Angels, and other heavenly beings. She was also incredibly intuitive. Throughout Marjorie's life, she has experienced miraculous and spontaneous awakenings after visitations by Angels and other Heavenly beings. These encounters have led Marjorie to share and teach people how to embrace living from a larger soul-oriented perspective.
Over the last twenty years, Marjorie has worked with thousands of clients globally as an internationally renowned psychic, based mainly in the U.S. and also Tokyo, Japan. She has directed her abilities toward helping others through her seminars, private sessions, and hypnotherapy. On her website, Marjorie states that her goals are to:

Rotary Club of Lancaster Youth Community Service Award
The recipient of the RCL Youth Community Service Award is George Bowen Fenimore. George was nominated by A. J. Weisendale. He is a 2023 graduate of McCaskey High School where he was involved in music, cheerleading, tennis, and more. He is excited to attend Duke University in the fall to study engineering!
George’s continued involvement with refugee families has had a positive impact on our community. He continues to seek donations of clothing & household items for refugee families fro Afghanistan. As well as working with the kids and sometimes parents in teaching English, acquiring transportation such as bicycles and working with the kids to learn tennis & basketball. George is making a real difference in our Lancaster community.
Why I Serve - Amy Lewis [Amy]
Amy joined the Lancaster Rotary Club in July of 2019. In October of 2019, Kaitlyn Blosser asked her to help with fundraising with the Basketball Extravaganza at Millersville. This was our major fundraiser, but also its last year. When Clint Krushinsky ask for help with PowerPacks, Amy said yes. Then COVID hit. When the club initiated the Wheels and Wings & 5K, Amy said yes, she would help. Saying yes is a what Amy does. If there is a way she can help, she does.
Amy subscribes to the philosophy of Servant Leadership in which the servant-leader is servant first. According to Robert K. Greenleaf, it founder, Servant Leadership begins with the natural feeling that one wants to serve, to serve first.
Amy thanked Rotary for the opportunity to serve and the service it does. We in Rotary thank Amy for her service.
Report from the Board of Directors - President Beth
President Beth gave the first of her monthly updates on the recent directors meeting and upcoming changes. This is in an effort to keep full transparency in the inner working of our club. These are the items covered
Club Facilitator – In 2019 the Club created the role of Club Facilitator. The road included working on grant applications, work with the Past Presidents to maintain the BOD succession plan, work with the foundation on planned giving, and reach out to Past Presidents and rule of 85 members. The Board approved continuing Bob McClenathan in this role.
Lifetime Members – The Board approved creating a Lifetime Membership Category for members in good standing who are unable to attend meetings and perhaps have stopped paying dues. The designation would extend without due and entitle the holder to receive The Transmitter and other correspondence for life. The Lifetime Member would need to be nominated by active Club members and approved by the board prior to recognition.
Committee Chair Orientation – The committees are expected to set goals, review the list of focus areas, and set up a meeting schedule.
Board Reports – Monthly, the Board will give a status report with year accomplishments and impact. This will include future plans. Most committees will give updates at meeting, especially at Rotarians In Action meetings. They will share goals, impact, priorities, and highlight what members are doing and what other members can do.
Some Rotary Dates – See Rotary Day at Barnstormers in Announcements for free tickets got September 17. The District Foundation Dinner is coming on November 3. The Rotary International Convention will be in Singapore in May of 2024.
Membership – We currently have 119 active members. 4 members resigned: RIchard Manix, Michelle Gibbons, Richard Hendricks, and Derek Lau. 3 members took a leave of absence: Tom Gemmill, Walter Otto, and Bruce Smith. 2 members were approved: Jason Gerber and Dr. Lauren Beal.
Two new members has been proposed for membership into our Club:

Gabby Romano (Sponsor is Ryan Ellis)
The Board has approved these new members. If no objections are received from Club members, they will be inducted into the Club.

Rotary Rendezvous meets August 23!
Looking for ways to connect with fellow RCL members and focus more on fun and fellowship than a structured meeting? Drop by our popular Rotary Rendezvous! It’s not your standard Rotary meeting. Rotary Rendezvous is focused on camaraderie and has become a highlight of RCL business and social gatherings, and a fun event for current and potential new members. If you're looking for fellowship, or a night out, please drop by Rotary Rendezvous on Wednesday, August 23, at Stoner Grille.
Rotary Rendezvous meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month.

Club goes cashless
Since our meals are now are included in our dues, there is only a need to pay for meals when we bring guests. Cash will not be accepted. Only credit cards will be accepted.

Dues modification during Leave of Absence
The new dues structure remains in place. However, any member may request a 3-month leave of absence. Dues will be $122 for this three-month period.
Clint Krushinsky reiterates that the Community Committee continues to need volunteers for Power Packs for the 2023-24 school year.
Each week the Power Packs program provides boxes with ingredients and a recipe for a meal as well as other items like vegetables, fruits, cereal and milk to elementary and middle school students and their families.
We help by picking up boxes at the Power Packs warehouse in Greenfield and deliver them to Washington and Reynolds schools. These deliveries are Wednesdays, either in the morning or afternoon (after our meeting) from mid-September to the end of May. It takes about an hour round trip. It's great to have a large vehicle to carry more boxes, but we can use mid to small cars also in a "caravan."
You will only be needed a couple of times a month and monthly I send out a request for availability and schedule accordingly.

Rod Messick, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway Homesale Realty, will cover the state of the residential market, and Mark Fitzgerald, CEO at HIgh Associates, will discuss the commercial real estate market in Lancaster County. Each brings a unique perspective and expert opinion to the topic, including supply and demand, property prices, interest rates, and national trends. Guests are welcome.
