Our Club sponsored seven local students at District 7210's RYLA conference.

This is always one of our favorite meetings when the RYLA participants speak to us about their experience at the five-day conference. While our student turnout was low at our meeting, the enthusiasm for the program was very high.
One Middletown High young lady and Taylor Groo, daughter of Gary and sponsored by the Monroe Woodbury Club, gave us a small snapshot of their week crammed full of activities. As always some are hesitant to go to this overnight event, not knowing what is in store for them. But by the week's end, RYLA has changed their lives, and they've made fast friends with so many others of the 142 participants.
Dr. McGuffy was again an impactful and favorite speaker when she presented about her efforts to treat the people of Kenya.
RYLA is one of the best projects we offer the youth in our community. It gives them an opportunity for self-reflection, challenges, knowledge and personal growth... and an exposure to Rotary. Congratulations to Paul Halpern as Club chair of this project.
